"Where did my name come from? Well, I have had 28 surgeries and I lost my father at the age of 7 to cancer. I used to be very self conscious about it. Other kids just didn't understand. Then, I discovered rap. Rap gave me confidence. I knew I needed to turn my confidence into something to empower others like me. Now, I am proud of my surgeries and I am not afraid to talk about them. People like Kendrick Lamar and Eminem have shown me that it’s ok to be different. I am proud to be different.”
Inpaine grew up as Brian Maurer from New York, NY. Finding rap was his saving grace supplying him with enough confidence to take this fun, unique, cool, kind world by the horns. In 2018, Inpaine and producer Linkn Praise, meshed their creative juices together to produce Inpaine’s first album, "Son of Douglas”. Inpaine stated; "It was a crazy ride and as I work on new projects, this album will always hold a place in my heart. I cannot wait for the world to discover this project.” Inpaine and Nick practiced until they perfected "Son of Douglas,” earning Upstate Album of the Year 2020! I present to you, “Son of Douglas”.
