Michie grew up learning to appreciate old school R&B from artists like Aaliyah, Usher, and TLC. Michie and fam would sing and dance the night away to the smooth R&B tunes from the good ole’ 90’s and early 2000’s. Over the years, Michie would continue to amaze her friends and classmates with her fresh musical talent and dancing skills.
Music and dance were a persistent interest to Michie yet, the lack of Asian representation in mainstream music proved to be discouraging. On her eighteenth birthday, Michie wished for a gift that would change her life forever, she wanted studio time! Her wish was granted and she was in heaven!
Michie knew that music was her dream, her destiny, and her passion! She began writing music, recording, and performing all over Los Angeles and the Bay Area. She played at bars, festivals, and any event she could get her hands on. Michie had opened up for artist Jordan T. at his show in downtown San Jose, and later was offered the opportunity to open for reggae artist Kelandy Diaz, during his “Party On The Wknd” Bay Area tour.
“This was the first real tour I had ever done. I had sometimes struggled with my performance confidence and feeling less experienced than everyone else, but everyone on tour including Kelandy believed in me which was a huge confidence booster and definitely taught me a lot. It was a truly rewarding and unforgettable experience.”
While going through college at Loyola Marymount University, with a major in sociology and a minor in dance, accompanied by years of experience in recording studios, Michie had created a project that she was ready to release to the world.
Michie released her debut EP entitled, See Me Now! See Me Now, consists of 7 songs that when listened to in order, provide a storyline of well, life. See Me Now, takes you on a tour of partying, love, heartache, and independence. You can capture the connection of emotion and passion Michie displays in each of her songs; Let Me Go, is FOR SURE one of those songs!
Loving being on stage and performing, Michie joined and is currently a member of cover band FSE (Funky Sound Experience), with whom she performs around the Bay Area when she is not releasing her own original music.
Michie has worked with collectives such as, Kollaboration SF and is currently in collaboration with MYX Global, Heavy Rotation, and Undiscovered SF, which is designed to assist economic activity and public awareness of SOMA Pilipinas. She recently performed at a drive-thru toy drive which supplied over 500 Christmas gifts to children and families in need during this difficult time, and was featured as the musical guest on Australian late night show, "The Late Shift".
“At first, being in quarantine had me really...unmotivated. I am a gemini and an extrovert so I need to be around people. I get my energy from other people and that's one of the main reasons I love to perform. I try to find the positives from COVID; I have met so many new artists through social media and have been able to dive into projects I don't think I would have without the quarantine. I am just taking this time to collab with new people virtually, improve on my writing, and release new music.”
Michie is a new artist with an old soul. She has a deep love for the soulful jams that we all still move to today. Although her most recent release had more of a pop vibe, Michie is looking forward to releasing her next jam explaining; “I am getting back to my roots, my kind of vibe. My next project will have more of an R&B/Soul type feel with some awesome collabs”.
Michie has an extremely fun personality and a voice you will want more and more of. Stay tuned to her youtube channel, socials, and all listing platforms for the latest and greatest from @MusicByMichie! Until next time… Stay Golden Team!

Michies’ Advice For New Artists
“I always felt that I only had so much time to pursue music and 'make it' as a singer. On top of that, I really didn’t see a lot of mainstream performers that looked like me. I had to decide what I really wanted and put everything aside and make music my priority; It took me a long time to commit and even now, I sometimes struggle.”
“Remember what YOUR goal is. Whether it’s getting on stage, creating music, or posting videos and promoting yourself on social media. Constantly remind yourself of your goals and work through it. Stay strong, people are always going to have something to say.”
