Do You Have An "Addict Brain"?

Matt Seefeld was speeding down the “pathway to hell”. He had isolated himself from everyone he loved including his wife and children. Matt’s after work celebratory beverage consumption and intake of pain meds were at an all time high. His life of first class flying, country clubs, and a pocket full of dough were all he needed to supply his addiction. #mylifelink #sobertribe #gratefuladdict #extraordinarylife

Detoxing from pain meds once a month with an abundance of alcohol was normal for Seefeld. It wasn’t until much later in life that he realized the amount of pain and destruction he had caused himself and those around him. It was time for Matt to make a change before it was too late. It took 15 years of addiction for Matt to recognize that the addict staring back at him desperately needed to find a pathway to sobriety and a purpose to lead him there.

Matt admitted himself into the, Betty Ford Center. He worked extremely hard on his sobriety making all of his wrongs as right as they could be. Upon exiting the center, Seefeld had a life changing revelation, “I needed to help other addicts find an easier pathway to recovery and support the radical honesty, transparency, and accountability required to stay sober and live an extraordinary life”. Too many times you are given a name of an alumni that will help you upon release from treatment, who may not even be sober. Seefeld found himself in this position yet, he had questions, “Do we have anything in common? Do we have the same interests? Do we have the same addiction history or similar profession”? How can this alumni be of any assistance to Matt when they have absolutely nothing in common? This was the motivation that he needed to help other recovering addicts in the same situation. Seefeld created a FREE, @mylifelink app where thousands of people from all over the world engage everyday to support and inspire each other in their recovery.
