Britney Freed At Last!

After nearly 14 years, Britney Spears is officially free. A Los Angeles judge ruled on Friday to end the conservatorship that has controlled her life and livelihood since 2008.

After Spears had a public breakdown in 2007 and was hospitalized, the singer’s father, Jamie Spears, set up and oversaw the conservatorship. Alongside her father, Jodi Montgomery was also a conservator for the singer since 2019.

At a court hearing in June, Spears expressed her desire for the conservatorship to end, claiming that she had been drugged, forced to work against her will, and prohibited from removing a birth control device.

After the pop singer's father was suspended as conservator in September, he promptly moved to end the conservatorship entirely. The end of her conservatorship marks the first time the pop singer will be free to make her own personal, financial, and medical decisions in the last 13 years!!!.

After the decision was announced, fans were cheering and shouting outside of the courthouse. Some fans sang and danced to Spears’ song "Stronger”.

Though Spears didn’t attend the hearing, she took to social media to express her gratitude for her fans in an Instagram post on Friday proclaiming: "Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy!!! I think I’m gonna cry for the rest of the day!!! Best day ever…”
